about
hello! thank you for visiting my website!
i am a singer/songwriter currently based in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. i describe my style as "acoustic pop," although i pull influences from many different genres including contemporary r&b, alternative rock and hip hop. i also believe that my genre is continuously evolving with me as a writer, and i love approaching new styles of music. i try to preach and practice authenticity in every aspect of my life, so all of my songs are extremely personal to me and connected to real people and places close to my heart.
i grew up in Geneva, Illinois, a western suburb of Chicago, and have been participating in and writing music ever since i can remember. i was a choir and theatre kid all throughout high school and college, my favorite roles being Whatsername in Green Day's "American Idiot" and Hope in "Urinetown." the people i met through theatre helped me realize my potential as a performing artist and inspired me to start playing my own music out.
in 2018, i graduated from University of Illinois with a degree in advertising and minor in public relations, but the only thing i could seriously consider pursuing right away was a music career. once i started playing out at open mics around the CU area, i began booking shows and getting serious about writing and recording my music.
the ideas of acceptance and inclusivity are particularly important to me. from being a theatre kid to a festival junkie to a singer/songwriter and local music advocate, learning the ins and outs of music culture is my life. i believe that anyone can be a part of music culture in one way or another, and my mission is to spread that belief through the personal connections i make in my career, and by proving that even your darkest, most private thoughts can become art that you are proud to share with the world.
thank you for reading, have a great day!
